Tangerine - Offical Music Video
"Tangerine", this is the fourth release from the upcoming Melting Palms album "Noise Between The Shades" -and piece by piece, everything is now coming together. And what a kaleidoscope the complete record will represent, is visualized by the video for "Tangerine", a hypnotic synapse assault, which also connects to the former space theme of the band from Hamburg. The congenial visual extension of the Melting Palms sound was conceived by motion graphic designer Julian Gummich.
"Tangerine" has become, musically and visually, a positional light within the band's own cosmos, that is as delicate as it is stark. The vocals stand not above, but alongside the multi-layered sound, something one might be familiar with from icons of intricate guitar pop
like Desperate Journalist, The Jesus And Mary Chain or even The XX.
This song-thunderstorm here, however, which despite all the beautiful sound, also lets many hailstones bang on your own Candyland composition, is unique. With "Tangerine" Melting Palms deliver the soundtrack of a troubled summer.
Thanks for that!
Orchard's Lie - Official Music Video
This song is one of the key pieces of the new Melting Palms album "Noise Between The Shades". And that not only because the lyrics and the accompanying video pick up on the iconic butterfly motif of the cover. "Orchad's Lie" rather represents the entire range that makes this band seem so enchanting.
The beginning of the video is rather cinematic: a short pre-text spoken into a scratchy mic, the song is immediately close to you. "I want you to know you look beautiful as you drift away," breathes Mike, who shares vocals with guitarist Teresa at Melting Palms.
Then the intro kicks in properly - and lets you flicker along with the band between tragedy and redemption, between comfort and melancholy. The sound itself opens up worlds somewhere on the shores of shoegaze, kraut, noise and psychedelic.
"Orchad's Lie“ is forward-looking guitar music with a very old soul.
Crimson Eye - Official Music Video
With their first single "Crimson Eye" Melting Palms open the way to their upcoming album "Noise Between The Shades", which will be released this summer. The band from Hamburg, who released their
debut album in the epidemic year 2020, meanwhile reorganized and found itself.
The reputation of being the loudest act in the city precedes them, but will never leave the same impression as the actual concert thunderstorm that the five friends are able to ignite.
"Crimson Eye" already foreshadows all of this in the player at home, but is about to enter the euphoric side of this shoegaze-noise-pop-space-whatsoever-band. The accompanying clip with a road-movie impression does the rest. It unfolds an uplifting piece, which tastes more sweet than bitter - nevertheless, it shows the noise cascades so characteristic of Melting Palms.
